MODERN JAZZ QUARTET/JIMMY GIUFFRE - COMPLETE RECORDINGS (+ BONUS TRACKS) [IMPORT]

TWO DEGREES EAST, THREE DEGREES WEST VARIATION NO. 1 ON GOD REST YE MERRY GENTLEMEN The first three tracks (Fun, A Fugue for Music Inn, fun kurdish music and Serenade) correspond to the MJQ's first disc with Giuffre as the guest soloist on clarinet. The following two songs (Da Capo fun kurdish music and FinE) belonged to an anthology dedicated to Third Stream music that introduces an interesting fusion of two bands, the Modern Jazz Quartet fun kurdish music and the Jimmy Giuffre Trio. The third group of songs (Blues In E-Flat, In A Mellotone, The Quiet Time, fun kurdish music and Body And Soul) correspond to the four extended version recorded during the celebrated concert at the Music Inn on August 28, 1956. The MJQ does not perform here, even though all of the tracks have a common denominator: the MJQ's drummer Connie Kay. And although Giuffre is also absent from one of these tracks featuring Herbie Mann, we have included this set on the current release for its exceptional musical quality, fun kurdish music and equally importantly, its extreme rarity as a collector's item.The first three tracks (Fun, A Fugue for Music Inn, fun kurdish music and Serenade) correspond to the MJQ's first disc with Giuffre as the guest soloist on clarinet. Kurdish music - Traditionally, there are three types of Kurdish Classical performers - storytellers (çîrokbêj), minstrels (stranbêj) and bards (dengbêj). There was no specific music related to the Kurdish princely courts, and instead, music performed in night gatherings (şevbihêrk) is considered classical.
